Von Känel Bau GmbH, a construction company based in Bern, commissioned us to develop a new visual identity, including a new digital appearance.
In this short animation, the new logo for Von Känel Bau emerges stone by stone, much like a mosaic.
The client’s needs and objectives were laid out at the beginning of the corporate identity development process, and were discussed during a kick-off meeting. Next, we jointly developed an implementation strategy.
As is typical for the development process of a new logo, we first designed different options, some of which we presented to the client. The client chose a logo that visualizes the letter K in a mosaic style, referencing their frequent work with natural stone – a Von Känel Bau GmbH specialty. After the decision was made, the design was further developed during the development phase.
Among other aspects, it was important to complement shapes and colors, while bringing them into harmony with an optimal visualization of the new brand.
The green and yellow colors give the new logo a fresh, modern and eye-catching appearance. And the bold lettering complements the pictorial brand perfectly.
A decision was reached during the concept design stage, in collaboration with the client, to forego a standard visual appearance. The intention was to increase brand recognition, with the goal of strengthening the company’s presence and position in the marketplace.
The design specifications (e.g., fonts and colors) were compiled in a design manual, ensuring the uniform visual appearance of Von Känel Bau GmbH in the future.
Additionally, we designed all company stationery, including business cards, letterheads and envelopes, according to the new Von Känel Bau GmbH visual language.
